Barbara Ross, J.P.
I was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, the youngest of 3 children. My father was in the Armed Forces so we moved every 3-4 years between the UK and abroad. I qualified as an RN/ Midwife and worked in the UK as an HIV/AIDS Specialist until emigrating to Canada in 2003. I spent the next 12 years as the Provincial Harm Reduction Manager with Alberta Health Services where I was most fortunate to get the opportunity to teach on the Masters of Public Health Course in Mwanza, Tanzania. My husband and I moved to Nova Scotia in 2016 and currently enjoy hosting Airbnb guests from around the world in our idyllic location on the Medway River. I have been married to my Scottish husband for more than 31 years and have 3 grown up sons and 6 year-old twin grandchildren. I believe every couple should the opportunity to have the wedding ceremony that is truly special and meaningful to them. As your JP, I will do my utmost to make that happen.
